Snow and Filters

Which filter would I need for shooting in daylight outside with bright snow?

How about daytime filters? Nighttime filters? A general anytime filter?

For snow, I'd use a circular polarizer.
Daytime and anytime: UV filter, just for protection.

With bright conditions (under blue sky) and snow there might be blueish cast in the shadows. Skylight filter will remove some of this blue coloring. A polarizer sometimes turns icey lakebed into cool black transparent surface depending on the angle of the sun.

Definitely polariser for snow.
Can use a UV or Daylight or Protect filter at other times if you want.

I remove all filters for shooting at night. They can cause reflections of bright lights and high contrast areas.

The light reflects fwd off the front element, then back into the camera off the inside of the filter.

If anyone cares I could find examples.
