M42 lenses and the Pentax 1.7 AFA

So, I've heard of shorting the contacts to get the AFA to work with M42 lenses, and also have heard that some specific types of M42/K adapter with the flange will conduct and can be used with the 1.7 AFA but losing infinity focus.

So, how exactly can I modify the adapter to be able to auto focus with the 1.7 X afa, and an M42 lens ?

Thank you.
