PhotoME, free download from Internet. Actuation count from the EXIF will give you the no. of shots taken

Download PhotoMe. Somewhere in the Exif data the total # of exposures is tucked away.

Doesn't the photo have this information in the file name?
eg PICT4057.jpg or PEF or DNG

No - there are several ways to change/reset that number, depending on the model & brand. The "real" shutter count is buried in the EXIF data and cannot be changed. This is the total number of shutter activations since the camera was manufactured, not since you (or the previous owner) last reset the filename counter.

I use PhotoME software too. It gives lots of information about the photo.

Try Flickr. If you have an account and upload a lot, the exif data can be retrieved from the photos. Just click on the pic to display it and to the right there is a "More properties tab". All of the EXIF data comes up. The shutter count is displayed.

Thanks - I really really like!

Nice at last to see how my cam meters for the scene with a nice graphic illustration.

Question: What would 'baseline exposure" (under image) stand for?

Mine is always at -0.5

Cheers

Dylan

Can anyone tell me which ' tag ' or ' heading ' the number of clicks is under ?

I've got Photome, but i dont see where it says number of shots taken is stated. There's a huge amount of info in there, most of which just goes over my head

It's under a field heading "Shutter Count".

Use the Find: box at the bottom of the PhotoME frame, and type in 'shutter count' and you'll see it.

No wonder i couldnt find it . There's no header called Shutter Count, and i dont have a ' find ' bar at the bottom. I think there may well be something wrong with my Photome prog
