Need some info on the AC Adapter for the K20D

I would like to know what the output is on the AC Adapter for the K20D which I believe is the same one used for the K10D D-AC50. For example I bought one for the Kodak I had but never used it and it has an output of DC 7.0V 1.8A so I'm hoping the Pentax is similar. If anyone can help that would be appreciated.

The K10/K20 require an 8.3V source. Some DIY instructions can be found here.

Batteries of the K10D/K20D are rated at 7.4 volts so, if you have a way to connect that to the battery terminals, it should still carry the 7.4V.
Be always careful of connecting the right polarity though as this could fry the electronics with reverse polarity current..and I think at least you should have a regulated power supply.

Thanks for the information, I might just sell the AC Adapter as I probably wouldn't use it anyway. Would be better off buying a second backup battery for the camera I think.

Plus there are a lot of third party batteries that aren't expensive.
You can pick up not just one but even two or more.
You can also get the "Konica Minolta" batteries NP-400 which are compatible with the K10D/K20D.

New and original Pentax batteries are being sold in this forum's marketplace (https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/photographers-marketplace/56855-sale-orig...d-cameras.html) for only $25.
They usually cost around $40-$60 elsewhere.
If you're lucky these havn't sold out yet.
