I have picked up this 2x converter lens, it fits the view through viewfinder is great but it has an f where your exsposure is . up to now I cannot get a picture.

Don't know, but you're welcome here. Out there will be someone who will know, I guess.

Is it a manual or AE converter?

Does it have the contacts?

Does the lens auto focus?

If it is a manual, I have plenty experience with a 2x auto Cosina TC.

Let me know and I will share my experince and answer your questions.

I do not understand your question.
Can you perhaps make a picture of how the gear looks like, and indicate what seems to be wrong, where?

Most likely you need to enable "using aperture ring" in the custom settings menu, shoot in "M" mode, and use stop-down metering. What lens are you using with the teleconverter--does it have an aperture ring? You *might* be able to shoot in Av mode with some restrictions.

You'll also probably want to enter the focal length for SR--you should enter double the lens focal length (or is set to in case of a zoom).
