K20D sensor problem?

Anyone dealt with anything like this before? Anything I should atempt to do before mailing it to Pentax?<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/30087622@N03/3460170276/" title="cabin 2009 project 065 by bergfire, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3627/3460170276_218eab1b13.jpg" width="500" height="333" alt="cabin 2009 project 065" /></a>
That verticle black line appears on every image.

Sending it back is going to be you're last option, you don't want to be without a camera.
I don't have a clue as to whether the fact that you didn't fully charge the battery or not but I suspect that is coincidence.
Next thing to try is to fully charge the battery (if you haven't already) and leave it out of the camera overnight.
I suspect you are going to have to send it back though, I'd leave out the bit about not charging the battery fully though, they might try and blame it on you.

That's a bummer but I'm sure once you get a functioning K20 you'll be happy with it.

I'm afraid sending it back to Pentax will be the solution.
I had the same problem last year with my K100D and ended up with Pentax fixing it twice with same failures later on. At the third time, they agreed to replace it with a new K100D.
My problem was even worse as the line was increasing in number, from 1 line to 3 lines.

Sorry for what happen to your camera but sometimes there's always a problem we don't expect.
I agree with Gary, once you got a good working K20D, it will be joy to use.
It's hard without a camera for a while but it's better than seeing that annoying lines forever.

I had a similar issue - the line was present in all pics (looked like a purple line). I sent it back as it acted up in the first 14 days of my purchase. I have a replacement now that seems to be ok. I am still checking to see if there are any issues.
