Need help updating firmware in K10D, please

Hello. I have a K10D, and after reading one of the lens books, I see where there is a firmware update from 1.00, 1.10, or 1.20 to 1.30. I followed instructions to the last letter, and I have not been able to make the update. I formatted an SD card in the camera with the appropriate mb's of space, downloaded the firmware, copied it to the only file I could find on the SD card, reinserted the card into the camera while it is off, turned it on while holding the menu button down, and nothing. Now I feel like a dog with a bone, I cannot let it go, and it kept me up for hours last night. I would be very grateful for any help and thank you!

So you double-clicked the downloaded file? And got two files out of it?
One of those files is a text file with instructions. The other is a .bin file.

Copy the .bin file onto the SD card, but don't put it in any folders, put it into the "root" of the SD card, the very top of the SD card file structure.

Then try the ol' turn it on while holding the menu button trick. Make sure your battery is full.

Thank you, I even read the only archived beginner's thread on this site, and that didn't help me. I think I understand what I have done wrong, I did not understand the SD file card structure. There was one file on the formatted card, and I placed the exe, bin and read me in that. Honestly, thank you so much, it was driving me nuts.
