You have to go into the Custom settings portion of the Menu, find the line that says 'Using aperture ring' and select option 2 'Permitted'.

Then turn the camera off and on again and on the rear LCD you will see a blue band with numbers, use the arrows on the wheel (next to the LCD) to set the Focal Length of the lens (in this case 200) for shake Reduction purposes.

First, do you have a P/KA adapter or just a PK? Without the P/KA adapter you cannot control the aperture from the camera body and your LCD display shows F---- because the camera cannot read the aperture from the lens (no contacts on the adapter).

Second, while it appears that your lens is locked into the AE_F/32 position (they were shared on Tamron Adaptall-2 lenses) there is a small, black locking button on the opposite side of the lens - you have to depress that button to fully lock the aperture into AE.

Third, there are numerous threads on the Forum about electrical problems between Adaptall-2 P/KA adapters and the AE K mount. There is one in particular in the Articles Forum that answers many questions.

In my experience, once you get these early 80's Tamrons working with the Pentax dSLR's they are very good lenses.
