Just tried your suggestion on my Ubuntu Linux install...

Code:
 exiftool imgp3944.jpg | grep "Shutter Count"
and it worked fine.

Had to change 'imgp' and 'jpg' to IMGP and JPG as that is how this version names them, and otherwise just cd'd to the directory in the terminal and ran that command.

Yep, 'coz I tried it with my bridge P&S and I can't friggin find any shutter actuation counts!
I was thinking wether I installed the wrong PhotoMe.
