Reverse Mount Adapter

Hello, I'm looking at picking up a reverse mount adapter for my old 50mm f1.4 and am confused about something.

will a 52 mm adapter work, or do I need it to be 49mm? I belive the filter size is 49 mm but when I do a quick search on ebay, all I see are 52mm adapters. Right away I'd just assume those won't work, but then I saw THIS thread and if you look at the image in the thread it looks like the adapter will fit both.

any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

its the filter size you need to match up since you are turning the lens around and screwing it in.

Thanks for the reply and yes, i'm aware of needing to match up the filter size. I just didn't understand how the literature that comes with the reverse mount adapter that was recently sold (in the topic i linked to above) said 49 mm and 52 mm on it. Unless pentax made two different reverse mount adapter sizes and just used the same manual for both?

K series lenses had 52mm filter threads, later lenses, 49mm.

They made reverse adaptors for both 52mm and 49mm for K mount.

You don't need to wait. Buy the 52mm adaptor and a 49>52 filter step up ring. With an M 28/3.5 reversed that gave me about 2.1X.
