Extension Ring Issues

Hi Guys,

I would appreciate it if someone could help me out here. I have just purchased the extension rings from this link,

Pentax Macro Extension Tube Ring: Virtual Village - UK

I have installed them into the camera and my standard 18-55mm lens into the rings. I cannot focus on anything at all.

I have manual mode selected.

Can anyone help please?

Kind Regards

Richard

There is no electrical connection with this type of extension tube, so they have to be used the same as a total manual tubes. Apature ring mode in set up of camera to allowed. Manual selected on menu mode knob, manual mode set on side of camera, Apature ring set manually to desired apature, focus by moving camera closter/farther from subject until subject is focused, Use green button or aelock to set shutter speed, and unfortually there is no apature ring on 18-55mm so it probably isn't going to work. I don't have any K-mount extenchion tubes so I have never actually tried any all aii automatic lens. My extension tubes and Bellows assembly are for m42 screw mounts, all manual. jim

Just to help out on the finer points. You'll be wanting a manual lens either a k-mount or M42 with adaptor to be able to use the tubes effectively, this is be fat the cheapest option.

I have a manual macro lens, 18-80mm KAF Mount. I can change the aperture manually on the lense, but makes no difference, no matter how close or how far from things I get I cannot get any focus.

The lens on its own is good for macro shots, but does not quite get close enough to capture spiders eyes for example. Can you suggest any alternatives.

I have a manual macro 18-18mm Pentax Lens K Mount. I can change the aperture manually on the lense. It is fantastic at normal macro photos but does not get quite close enough for things like spiders eyes, or bee's wings, that I would like to take a photo of.

Can you suggest any other way of achieving these results?
