Strange dot in the upper left corner area of viewfinder?

I have a k2000 that arrived fresh from BH photo on Tuesday. I just noticed this weird little black dot on the view finder at the top, toward the left. It's not on the lens (removed it to check with just the cover in place on the body).

Is this normal? If not, should I worry about it? It doesn't appear in my photos.

You have a bit of dust on the focus screen. You can try to clean it (there are ample posts regarding this topic), or send the camera for cleaning, or just get used to it, as it won't affect anything.

Since I just got it the day before yesterday, I called B&H and they will exchange it. Thanks!

You can exchange it, but dust happens. You might get a new and temporarily dust free one, but within a couple of weeks or months it too will have dust. Don't sweat it.

ETA: I wish Pentax had just told me that when I called. I really didn't want to exchange the camera if it wasn't necessary.
