Get an old Sigma 70-300. It doesn't have great quality and it focuses slow, but it is cheap. As far as I know, all of the zooms that go to 250/300 are more expensive. I picked up a used one for 70 dollars a few years ago and even though I don't use it now, in decent light it was OK.
