Anti-Shake/Tripod?

Why is it recommended to disable anti-shake when using a tripod? I assume the anti-shake feature will not compensate for anything if it doesn't sense any shaking?

Is it easy to recognize the flaws in a photo that the anti-shake was left on?

It's a non issue really as you should be using the two second timer with the tripod and the two second timer automatically turns off SR.

I don't know the technical details but I think it has something to do with the fact that the tripod cancels out one plane of movement (up and down) and SR can't compensate for that.
I think if you were to pixel peep, you would see the difference.

I'd recommend doing a search of these forums - the question has been discussed many, many times before. Not that there has been a definitive answer, but at least you can see what the various theories are. Most plausible to me is the idea that SR is designed to deal with the much larger/slower movements typical of handholding as opposed to the smaller more rapid vibrations that typical might occur on a tripod.
