Ah vaporware

I did more reading on it and apparently - if the sensor is not "full frame" the viewfinder and metering woudl be off - oops

Also that there is a huge variation among film cameras (apparently)

That would make the adapter expensive and tricky to manufacture at this point - maybe in the future ?

'till then there's still some 35mm film available

Cheers,
Craig

I don't, half the fun of using a film camera like the K1000, is using film.

the last remnants of a cool idea that never quite made it to fruition.

there isnt one. and I dont think any camera is 'perfect' for students. its not the camera that matters. one could argue a hasselblad is the 'perfect' camera for students. the reason why the K1000 was the choice of so many schools was 1: price 2: availability. its hard to say whether the stripped down features of the K1000 were even a consideration for most schools. if the K2 were as cheap as the K1000 would they have been used instead? what about a leica?

Perhaps the lack of an ideal digital camera for students is what keeps the K1000 and it's clones alive and well ?

I'm not aware of any DSLR that lacks control of ISO, aperture, and shutter speed, or that doesn't provide a meter. Hence, any DSLR would work just as well as the K1000 for learning purposes.
