OMG- Pentax begineer gets published!'s just a rinky-dink, local papaer, but I submitted a local landscape photo, and they published it on the front page! They did credit me for the photo.

It's not much compared to the amazing shots I've seen from so many other Pentax photo contributors, but I'm still thrilled anyhow!

Above the phot the put the caption "TREE-LICIOUS", and here is the byline they put below it:

"This bucolic setting on a beautiful summer day appeared in Olmsted Falls at West Road and Lindbergh Boulevard. One of our readers, Jenny Gabel, contributed this photo. "

I do have to say that reading this form has REALLY been helpful to me in chosing my equipment and getting to know my new camera- THANKS EVERYONE!!

- This is NOT the full size file. I made it smaller for easy web viewing AND I am certain that it wouldn't withstand indepth pixel peeping- that would ruin my silly moment of glee

OOPS- spelled beginner wrong in the title! - can't fix now

Congrats and save the paper or frame it. Make sure you have another copy though for safekeeping.

Wow! Congratulations. You also used a K2000 too which is the same camera I have, that made me love my camera even more although I already love it enough. That picture has a very nice feeling to it, could definitely do a picnic or bbq out by that fence.

LOL - good one!

This was actually taken my first outing with my new camera. The time I spent with the K20D before returning it to QVC really helped me in getting introduced to this camera.

I ended up selling my motorcycle recently so that I could afford to take time off of work to care for my father durring his recovery from an esophagectomy (due to cancer). So, I'd been staying at his house 24/7, and snuck out while he was resting for a walk. I took my new "toy" with me, and took some shots, including this one. It was a wonderful diversion!

I took some landscapes, close-ups of flowers, and tried to get a shot of one the frequent trains. But somehow it knew I was waiting for it so it didn't come. I even ate some wild blackberries along the way.

Anyhow- I'm loving my new camera so much so that I listed my also beloved Panasonic DMC- FZ28 on "that" auction site this week. I was thinking that I should hang on to it, but I doubt I will use it much now.

Thanks for the pat on the back guys!
