cropped image when review

hi

i've just started using the camera and when i review the image the top and bottom part is cropped. the review image is not 3:4 and it leaves a thin black space on top and bottom of the screen. is this normal? or is there any setting for this?
thanks

Yeah, there are various settings and toggles for what appears (check out the INFO button for one) also your settings menu. I believe the default with the K20d is that it'll try to fill the screen and you can back off with the rear dial.

What camera are you talking about?

I think he's talking about aspect ratio of the pictures. On our cameras, it's always 3:2 - and I'm pretty sure you cannot change that. That does leave two thin black stripes in the top and bottom of the screen

Unless he has a compact camera of course, which are usually 4:3.

I'd just like to say that my K200D does this too.

Well, there you go then. The K20D, like most DSLR's, shoots 2:3, not 3:4.
