first pancake

just picked this up



looking forward to my m42-kmount adaptor coming so i can try it out.

Any special precautions when using a pancake type lens?

thread really just an excuse to post a picture, sorry

Thread is ok. I have never had Soviet style pancakes before. Nice new toy.

Hey, I just got one of those too!! I put in "best offer" of $5.00 and got it 3 days later! Shipping was 3 times the price I paid for it though! I also got a super Tak 200mm f4 M42 for $38 shipped! I love Pentax for lens compatibility!

still waiting on an adapter, but from what I understand, iguess it is supposed to be a zeiss or leica copy.

Congrats on your purchase, a fine little lens i also had the chance to play with.
Its pretty good, because the lens has simple few element design and slow maximum aperture, which allows for better image quality.
Worse are its ergonomics.
Aperture ring, for example can be described as ontop of the focusing ring, so when stopping down your'e most likely throwing the lens out of focus at the same time. They are very close and small. Since the lens has no hood and the aperture ring is right next to it, it is easy to accidently touch the front element.
