Broadway Photo

Broadway Photo, has anyone done business with this company. How long should a back order on a Pentax K20d take? I ordered my camera on the 8/29/2009 and its still back ordered. Should I cancel the order and buy from someplace else I have called a couple time and they keep telling me 3 more days. Recommendations or advice please. The price for a new camera was $669.00 including kit lens. Now their website price is over $900.00
Thanks,
Gary

Always check resellerratings.com before any online purchase if you don't know the vendor.

Broadway Photo

Broadway is one of the scammers that just reached an agreement with the N.Y. state Attorney General's office, to pay a huge fine and reform their way of doing business.

I have a coworker who bought an Olympus E-510 from them about a year ago. I tried to talk him into getting a Pentax, but no dice. I even warned him about Broadway, but he fell for their low website prices.

Anyway, after he placed the order, he received an email telling him to call to "confirm" his order. When he called, he was told all kinds of nonsense, like the battery that came with the camera was no good, and he should order their special one for about $75. He ended up getting the camera, an Olympus flash, an Olympus telephoto zoom lens, a crappy camera bag, and some other accessories. He ultimately got the things he ordered, but they high-pressured him terribly. They also charged a ridiculous price for shipping from NY to Cleveland.

After he got the order, he told me how much he paid (I don't remember exactly how much). I then went to B & H's website and priced out the same items. Even with Broadway's terrific price on the camera, he ended up spending almost $100 more (I think the total was around $1300), than he would have at B & H. B & H has a reputation for good service, no high pressure sales tactics and excellent return policies.

Check out any online retailer at Store Ratings and Reviews by Real People - Trusted Online Shopping.

Run, do not walk away from Broadway.

That's a lie! They don't have parents - they were spawned.

And you're confusing basement with sewer.

If they have your credit card info, you may want to contact your credit card company and preemptively deny any charges to them.

I once ordered an item from an unscrupulous company. They then called my house and tried to pressure my wife to upgrade some stuff at extra cost. When she declined they said she wasn't authorized to make such decisions and that only the one who made the order could do such. So, being the authorized one, I promptly called them and canceled the order. About a month later we received a charge for the item. Luckily, American Express reversed the charges and requested proof of delivery of the item from the store. The store never responded.

So, if they have your info, contact your credit card company and make sure they don't ever charge you.
