help with multi-exposure

So I'm trying to figure out exactly what this setting does, and is there a way to confirm when its been done?

Does it take 2-9 photos, then stack them together, or does it just take on photo?

I know I can't be in green mode to access it, but how can I confirm a shot has been taken this way?

I'm totally confused by this...

It actually takes 2 to 9 shots and combines them (in camera) into one shot. Tripod is a requirement. It figures the exposure based on the number of shots you specify. You can get incredibly low noise with a 9 shot exposure because it will divide the the exposure by 9. At 100 ISO it comes out to about 11 ISO for each shot to make the final output. This lowers the noise on the sensor quite a bit.

Tripod is not required. You can play with it.

I stand corrected. Tripod is only necessary if you are taking multiple exposures of the exact same scene to lower noise. By the way, PASIPASI, you remind me of the old days with my brownie camera and multiple exposure fun.
