Like I said, just from experience.... no documented evidence. The nikon ttl spanks my PTTL at every family event I attend. The Pttl is just not consistant. under exposes then really under exposes to the point that there is no consistant compensation I can use. My cousins D80 is just way more consistant. So much so, that if both cameras are there I will use hers every time. Now in natural light, forget me using the D80....

The Pttl flash is really the only think I have never trusted on my two pentax cameras. And if I had a nickel for everytime I heard "user error" about it, I could buy a Nikon System!

I do as you mention, get better results in manual... but at event with kids and varying conditions a consistant PTTL would be preferable!

Just my experience...

?????? i currently have the k200d, and have been pretty happy with the results... but i tend to want to 'grab' shots at the extreme of my da 55-300mm lens... only because i can't physically close the distance.. i.e., off shore events, something up a tree....
if i were to buy the k20d, with the added 4mp or so, i assume my intensive cropping would yield better compositions...
am i right ??? hope so, i'm itchin' to pull the $$ trigger....
thanks, dave m.

True, you can crop somewhat closer and get good results. jim

Good choice!
Take it slowly with the lens build up process. Try to find out what kind of shots you want to make first before you start adding lenses.

Some recommend using a "normal lens", that'll be a 28mm on the K-7. I got the Sigma 28/1.8 and can highly recommend it but you can also find nice 28mm lenses with manual focus for much less money.

It is worth trying one of the 50/1.4 (for portraits) or 50/1.7 (when sharpness at aperture ratios below 2.8 has priority over bokeh) lenses. They are really sharp beyond f/4 and will show the IQ potential of the K-7 (as opposed to a kit lens or consumer zoom).
