Focusing screen

For a K10D or in my case, GX-10 When you buy an after market focusing screen, do the little red boxes still light up on the screen with auto focus or not? I guess what I am asking is if the red focus area lights are engraved on the screen or not? I have read a few posts about focusing screens, but haven't seen this specific question answered. Thanks

Yes they do - I read somwhere that they are projected onto the screen by some mechanism, and I can confirm for you that on my K20D, they light up as normal. What you won't see with many screens is the little marks showing where the non active focusing points are - for instance I have this screen in my K20D, and as you can see it's very plain, no indications of where the focusing points are until you move the active point, or focus which lights up the red indicators projected onto the screen. For an extra $40, Katzeye will mark the focusing points for you...

They will mark it like your regular screen with the black frame marks, so it would look like your regular screen with the only difference of the split screen on the middle.
If you visit their site you will understand it more.
