I agree with Ivoire. Forget the grip, get a spare body. One that takes AA batteries if you like, but a camera malfuncition does't only happen with batteries. A pro needs a backup camera IMO.

For me, I got the grip for 2 things:
1. I have big hands
2. I have heavy lenses

The best thing about the grip is that when I have it on, it balances out my DA* lenses perfectly and they are much easier to hand hold.

This is really a matter of personal preference. I like my K10D the way it is and I think the grip makes it too large and bulky.

One more vote for a second body. You can probably get a used K10D for less than the grip! I'm not a professional photographer, but I used to be a professional guitar player and I always made sure to have a spare guitar and amplifier for concerts.

I would have to agree on that for the K10D/K20D Grip, but the k7 body and grip are smaller and much easier to manage. I didn't buy the grip for my K10D after trying it out, but I'm glad I got it for my K7.
