Minolta np-400 vs. Pentax d-li50 battery

Hey.

I am wondering if anybody have experience of the Minolta np-400 battery to Pentax k20d?

Is it worth to buy? What is the differences?

I had two of the NP-400s with my K-10D they worked as well as the Pentax-branded one.

But I'd give different advice now. because Lithium rechargeable batteries start to loose capacity from the date of manufacture, not just in use. Since there's been no Konica-Minolta since 2006, it's a sure thing that all NP-400s are old stock. Therefore, you're probably just as well getting some unbranded 3rd-party battery, which at least was probably made recently.

I've also noticed no difference between each of these that I have on either of my cameras.
Both OK to use with the caveat mentioned by Matt.

Maybe, but I think there is a lot more recently manufactered NP-400's than you think. I still see people with A1's and A2's. And yes, I also use the 3rd party batteries which are indistinguisable from the branded ones. Probably made by the same factory.

Okey, I did forget to mention that the battery Im thinking buying is not a Minolta, but its a copy of the Minolta np-400 battery (by a third-part manufacture). It is so much cheaper (12 ) than the pentax own.

I have a 3rd-party battery from Adorama. It isn't as long-lasting as the OEM, not even close, despite the similar ratings. Can't complain, however, given the low price.

The OEM battery is almost impossible to find locally. Pentax must stop making/selling it at some point. I hear that the K-7 has a different battery now.
