I just purchased a Marumi DHG Circular Polarizer and for the price it's a really nice filter. It's slim but the front ring accepts a lens cap. I can't vouch for the durability though since I've only had it for a couple of months but it's a sturdy feeling for a slim filter. Someone on this forum recommended buying Marumi's from West Coast Cameras; they have the lowest price plus shipping is fairly quick.

Ha, I'll be using the same setup and was previously searching for a good CPL. I was reading up on the Hoya Pro-1D before I found this thread.

I also recently acquired the Pentax 18-250 lens and bought a Marumi DHG CP filter from "West Coast Cameras" based on a recommendation from a member of this Forum. I liked the price (mid-range) and the fact that it is a slim model. So far my results have been very good and I'm now waiting for delivery of the same 77mm filter for my Sigma 10-20.

I have the same one as MacGirl, and as far as I'm aware it's as close to Hoya's HMC and B+W's MRC quality as you can get at a reasonable price. It is a plastic mounted filter but gives excellent results.
