Hello can anyone help >

Hi my name is Dylan from Anglesey North Wales in the UK I am a novice photographer and have a Pentax K2000, I have purchased a previously owned Asanuma 70mm-220 which fits the camera body but gives a F--- message on the screen and will not allow me to take photos. Am I doing something wrong here or is it just not compatible as the seller assured me ?

You need to go into the Custom Menu and set the "Using Aperture Ring" setting to "Allowed," then shoot in Manual mode.

Yes, definitely read that thread. Settng the "use aperture ring" option is only the first step; next you need to learn how to use the Green button and the DOF preview in M mode if you want to actually shoot at any aperture but wide open. That thread explains how it works.

Does the K2000 have a green button? I didn't think it did somehow.

You're right; I misread/forgot what camera we were talking about. For the K2000, I believe it is the +/- button you use. There is also no DOF preview, which is one reason the K2000 is not the best choice for using manual lenses, but its still usable.
