Too many actuations?

missed selling my K10D because the potential buyer thought 15000 activations were too many.
Camera was new in May of 08.
I wanna K7 but if I can't sell the K10D I have to save like mad.
What is the life expectancy in actuation count?

shutter count of 15,000 is not too much and the expected life expectancy of actuation is around 100, 000 before it fails (although there has been pre-mature failures reported). I have both K100d and the k10d, both are respectively 24,500 and 34,000 and going strong. I would still keep at least one of them around as a backup even if I get the k-7. This way, I always have a camera ready if one of them fails or in service. This happens to me on a trip (thank goodness I brought two cameras) and also at home.

Thanx.
I had really thought that a camera should be able to last longer than 15000.
But what do I know.
I am really hankering for a K7 most ly for the imprived AF speed and the larger sensor. I am into wildlife and while I have been quite happy with the K10d I think I can do much better with K7.
If I can hold out till the new year's price drop I may be able to swing the new one and keep the K10 as back up. Makes sense.
