Foggy at Sunrise - Settings?

Hi Everyone,
As I was taking my son to school this morning there was a thick blanket of fog which is common during the winter months in Idaho. As the sun was rising it was gorgeous but I didn't have my camera with me.

There will be many other opportunities this winter and was wondering what sort of settings would be most appropriate under these conditions.

The camera I use is a Pentax K2000.

Thanks in advance

Dan, starting out, you may just put the camera in Av mode at a "who cares?" aperture of f/8, setting the ISO low (like 100-200) and letting the camera expose the shot for you.

Beyond this, there's probably little else you need to set, unless you want to create long exposure effects or the like. Once you have your 'test' exposure, you can see whether you need any exposure compensation.
