Hello,

Can anyone recommend books on photography for near beginners (I know a bare
minimum about Shutter Speed, Aperture and ISO but no where near enough) or online courses, ideally free and also any good websites with assignment s to help me learn all about my Pentax K20d and photo taking and composition.

Digital Photography Tutorials and Techniques

Phillip Greenspun has a slightly different emphasis as he starts with understanding light
Learning Photography? Browse photo creation resources from Photo.net

Cambridge in Color has great articles that cover basic photo concepts very clearly and in depth. Read Neil's lessons, if something is not clear, like depth of field or resolution.
