Do I NEED to put the Pentax disc on?

Or can I just run with psp9.......does the pentax disc have drivers with it or can I just dowload any drivers?
There seems to be some issues with the disc...........but psp is running fine now! I also downloaded some freebies just to try!
Which way to go before I charge up this camera! I already opened the box! Im sure Santy wont mind!
cheers

Hi Jan.
Not sure what you're after exactly, but if you're shooting in JPEG mode, all of your images will be editable on any software package you choose. No need for Pentax's proprietary software unless you want to use it for RAW processing (and don't have any RAW converters for your camera).

Just enjoy shooting and see how your first lot of results works for you.

To add to above reply:
If I buy something that does not work, I return it and get a new one. Even if it's a small part that I might not see an immediate need for.

PSP X2 doesn't support the K20D's RAW files and there has never been an update. I would think that this is also going to be an issue with the newer cameras.

Thank you

Thanks Rusell
I am running psp9........have done for a few years and it seems to be ok altho I havent played with raw yet. I also bought an older model km ...........and let me just say straight out of the box it aint no p&s..........its gonna take me ages to work this out! and this was supposed to be user friendly! I do like the size it fits in my hand nicely and the controls are easy to find once I work out what they are for and how to use them!
but its fun so far!
cheers

Russell,

I am using Paint Shop Pro X2 with my K20D, and it does read .pef files for me. Maybe there's an update you can apply to your PSP?
