KxxD and water

I've copy my reply from the General Photography - Techniques & Styles section, not sure if this is the right place:

I've search YouTube, and found some movies like:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnw_H7f4wIA
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zooPXbWJis&NR=1

And the best one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Op9mBbo92Ik&NR=1

I guess (not that I'll do it) that the K10D, K20D and the latest K7 will work just fine after getting <very> wet.

And a question:
After taking pictures at the beach, in case the camere get wet with sea water (salty ...), what would you do:
1. Just wipe the camere well
2. Wipe the camere, and when you get home you put it under a tap water and wipe it again?

Thanks!

Although the camera is weather resistant, it is NOT waterproof. I would try to avoid getting salt water on the camera. If you do get some salt spray on the camera, holding it under the tap would not be wise. Being weather resistant should not be an excuse to be careless.

Yeah...
I would still treat water as your camera,s worst enemy. There's no sense in tempting fate.
As fo salt spots on your camera? If it was mine, I'd only use a 'damp' cloth.

I would definitely be careful. A damp cloth should be fine. Remember these are "weather sealed" not "Water proof." There is a big difference and in particular, the pressure of water from a faucet can be too much for the seals. See here.

After asking the same question PENTAX service, here by I enclose they answer:

"
Hello:

I have spoken to the service manger.

Before going near any water, please make certain that all openings are sealed, including the hot shoe (make certain the hot shoe cover is in place). Use only very slow running water, or, preferably use a wet towel more safety. Make sure the body and the lens are completely dry before you separate them, or change battery or flash card etc.

Best Regards
