SIGMA 28-80mm MACRO - different models

Hi All,

I read about this lens at the lens review section, and I notice that there are three different models for it:
Sigma 28-80mm F3.5-5.6 I Macro
Sigma 28-80mm F3.5-5.6 II Macro and
Sigma 28-80mm F3.5-5.6 M Macro

I guess that the 'M' stands for mini (and maybe it's also the first generation), but as I read, the first one had a plastic mount, and less (?) then 8 blades, and the second one had a metal mount and 8 blades.
The 'M' one has both metal mount and 8 blades (I've bought one just today).

What are the differences between those lenses? Is there an optical improvment or other improvments between those three (or two) lenses ?

Thanks!

The "II" is supposed to be an improvement over the "I" and is a tad sharper.
I have the version II but did not have the first so I can't make any comparison, but from what I have heard is it better.
