Appropriate lense for K200D?

Hello, I am new in SLR so I have a few question regarded lenses. I bought a pentax k200d with 18-55 da lens, usually take photos of clothes in model in indoor. This lens is ok but I need more past and sharp picture.

I am looking for an appropriate lens for this purpose in reasonable price. I did some brief research on lenses also some of my friend suggested me go for old lenses for film camera, I found plenty of this kind of lenses in ebay, like pentax-m smc 50mm f1.4 and pentax-m smc 50mm f1.7 and so on. I need an advice on this. Thanks

Both lenses mentioned are sharp and fast but the M series has niether auto focus or program exposure capabillity. 50mm is pretty good focal length for short portrait work with the sensor crop factor. If you want auto focus an FA50/1.4 or F50/1.7 would be nice. If you don't mind manual focus but want auto exposure capabillity the A50/1.7 or A50/1.4 would work.

I'm moving this to the beginner' forum because it seems more appropriate there - you're looking for for general advice here. Mine would be, use the kit lens long enough to be able to be more specific about what your needs are (eg, what focal lengths you want, what kind of maximum aperture you'd need, etc). BTW, I'm not sure what you mean about wanting more "past" - I think whatever you meant didn't translate well.

I'd say either the Pentax DA12-24 F4 or DA17-70 F4, i say the zoom and F4 because most likely you'll be shooting at 5.6? and wide open at F4 you'll have just enough to get everything in focus, the zoom factor should cover you from shooting in tight spaces as some design studios are fairly cramped.

If those lenses are too expensive as you noted "budget", see if you can get a 16-45 F4 ED or 40 2.8.
