sigma 300mm f2.8, 1.4,2.0,right angle viewer

Well just ordered a sigma 300mm f2.8 with a 1.4 apo tc and 2.0 tc a right angle 1-2.5 viewer and remote shutter... My goodness. I tossed and turned all night. But when your old I think you deserve the best you can afford... That is how i justified it.
What is the UV size for that lens? I looked but could not find it.
Thanks,

Congrats Gary. From what I read about that lens, it does not sport a front filter thread (Istand corrected on this, though). Sigma built a filter as a protective glass (multicoated ofcourse) right into the front. If it breaks, you need to send the lens in for replacement. But that should still be much cheaper than a new front lens....

Otherwise all the 300/2.8 lenses I know take a 112mm front filter.

Hi Gary,

Congrats!

AFAIK Ben is correct. I have an older version (pre DG), and it has the protective front filter that I can't remove (but haven't really tried very hard) with no filter threads in the PF. Both the Tamron SP 300/2.8 LD (IF) and FA*300/2.8 use 112mm filters (the FA* also has a PF, but it's easily removable).
