pentax e75 question

hi there,

I've just bought a pentax optio e75, I have taken 2 images with it and the memory is full, obviously it has a small hard drive. I uploaded the pics onto my computer so that the memory is free for more pics, but I keep getting the message "memory is full" when I try to take new pics.

I realise there's probably something really basic which I'm not doing, any help is appreciated!

thanks,
ben

cameras do not have hard drives, you must insert a memory card into the memory card slot for the camera to save images onto.

Exactly. And memory cards fill up too. When the card fills, you need to MOVE, not copy, the image files to your computer. I'm not familiar with that Optio, but it probably came with a disk of software for managing your image files, as well as a manual that tells how to use the camera and software. Read the manual carefully; buy the type of card it recommends; have fun.

It does have a hard drive, albeit only 10mb. No problem, I've got it sorted now. I have to format the hd. Thanks for your responses anyway

Well, no, that's not a HD in there, just some chip storage. 10 MB won't store more than about 2 shots. You need a SD or SDHC memory card, the bigger the better -- somewhere in the gigabyte range, several gigs if you plan to shoot much video.
