I own both the DA 40 and 35 and I guess I would suggest the 40 to start off with. The 35 is an amazing lens, very sharp, able to focus close and do true macro shots. Either lens is great, but the DA 40 seems to fit with the Kx size and personality the best.

If you are doing a lot of shooting, what you lack should become apparent to you. In other words, define your needs first, don't buy into other people's wish lists. Once you have a better idea of what's missing you can get more specific ideas.

But, hey, if you've got a lot of cash you can buy it all and sell what you don't use later.

Good luck with whatever gear you buy.
