Thanks to all the answerers taking the time

Ive been lurking for a while here, gathering as much information as i can before asking a question that could have potentially been answered already...I know that must get annoying for the pros who actually take the time to read and answer questions for the new people posting here. I know in just my reading that i must have come across the title " kx or k7 for beginner, which should I buy" about 20X. I started to get that uncomfortable feeling and thought "Oh no not again", when id scroll down and see another one....among the others but that sees to be the popular subject recently...Anyway without you, the answerererrrs it would be that much more difficult to understand when your first starting out. But my intention here was to say that you deserve a thank you for taking the time to help and give the newbs like me some direction. I appreciate it.

Great bunch of people on this forum. I learned virtually all the digital aspect of my current photography from them.

I will have to say, after being on this forum now for almost a year, I do occasionaly get tired of the same questions being asked by members. However, I still have questions and sometimes answers to the simple questions lead to answers about more complex ones too.

What is interesting to me is seeing the stream of questions from new DSLR users coming to all of this via the K-x. This is nothing but good for Pentax and we Pentaxians. It's saying that there are new streams of individuals coming to here to seek info. I think once one makes that leap to the DSLR and makes a brand choice, they will tend to stay there and buy more. In the long run, it's in our own best interest to help nubies and / or answer those repetative questions.

luckily there are plenty of new people joining the forums! I find it is a right of passage when I can answer a question that I asked a year earlier for someone newer than me. Keeps the old fogies from getting too grumpy

the mods deserve a thanks too imo

Well as one of those old fogies it is mostly enjoyable to share knowledge that was either shared by someone many years ago or something I've learned myself. The hard way.
Something to think about: All of my life I've done for others. Needed help moving? I'd be there. Need a ride. Yep. Gave me lots of pleasure to help others but I had a problem accepting help. Always had to do it myself. Never ask for a hand. Until I learned the lesson. As it made me glad to help others I was taking someone elses joy by not giving them a chance to help. Moral? Give help when able. It makes you happy. Accept help when you can. It makes someone else happy too.

Well said. I was told many, many years ago never to pay back, but rather to pass on to others. I try to follow that maxim, and pass the maxim on to anyone else I may have happened to help.

I've just been engaged in the most instructive discussion in the telephoto (300mm plus) club with folks who are true experts sharing all sorts of hard won knowledge. It's been like a graduate seminar (with much of it over my head ;~) This is really a wonderful community.

And you think you're the only one? Well not "much" but sometimes some of it goes over my head also. Especially if it's an area I haven't really gotten into.
