About 12x
12x mag would require about a 600mm Fl lens on a full frame.
Thanks Wildman,

In that case, I am saving myself tons of $$ using this set up.
Cheers.

I really appreciate you all you guys great input. Your input is well teken! I went to a local camera shop to remain nameless and since i didnt have a Nikon or Canon, they pretty much blew me off not even offering input on the sigma lenses even though they had a wall full of sigma lenses. I thought the arrogance was a little much. I was planning on buying a bit of other stuff, but decided to go online instead. I know it isnt much, but they probably lost a couple grand over the next year or so from me. At any rate, I think for the time being, I will be going with the sigma 150-500 until I can afford a nice 2.8 400...thanks again! Im sure ill be back...

Well, chances are they didn'*t have* any lenses to offer you. If they don't carry Pentax cameras or lenses, they probably don't carry Sigma lenses for Pentax, either.

Sounds like a certain, un-named, camera shop in Austin (and the only one, I might add) who shall remain un-named to protect the guilty!!

Not a bad price. The lens is $4700 at B&H, and a currency coverter says your price equals about $3800.
