smc pentax A 1.2/50mm

so i just bought said lens for 65$ off ebay and i realize that it is much much much lower then the estimated price in the lens review section. but i did my home work and even called the guy and talked to him and everything sounds legitimate. am i just a lucky one and picked it up before everyone or am i in for some horrific discovery haha, worst case scenario i see is that i paid for a lens with optical errors and im out just 65

Is it actually a 1.2 or a 1:2. There is a difference. Because if you got a f1.2 you got a great deal.

1:2 i just re looked at the pics he sent me...so i guess its an f/2? still a decent lens...its defiantly an "a" series

Thought so. The lens you got according to the lens reviews here is going for only $37.77. I can buy one from KEH for about $40.

no its deffinatly a F/2 but still a greatlens correct? im way up here in alaska so my only way to older primes is pertty much ebay and the associated shipping up here

It's still a good lens. Just not as fast as the 1.2.

Btw, KEH.com ships to Alaska. I have bought two film cameras and a few lenses, plus my K100D from them. They're very good if you get something you don't like or isn't what you thought it was and want to return it. They even return your shipping. Warranty is good too.

Nothing wrong with an A50/2 if its in good shape. I shoot my A50/1.4 at 2.4 usually anyway.

I have run down so many supposed 50/1.2 lenses in craigslist and ebay that upon questioning were actually 1:2 that I just assume all are wrong unless its listed at $500 to start.

Does that come in both K and M42?

I sold am M42 2 to someone here awhile back for 20 bucks, shipping included--but don't remember who. I even sent him the lens first, and as promised, he stuck 20 bucks in an envelope and mailed it to me, if the lens met his satisfaction.

One day, I'm going to find a 1.2 in someone's attic and collapse from excitement.

The A50 F2 lens is not a very good lens. It is worth approx 25-30 dollars... so if the lens was represented on EBAY as a 1.2 then I would cancel or send it back what ever.

There are much better options at the 50mm range IMHO

i know its not top notch but its still a decent prime lens to get me started and im planing on buying a m-50mm/f1.7 from a friend for only 10dollars...he offered to sell it after i had already bought the other lens, just my luck haha
