Kata DPS 465 or LowePro Fastpack 250

New to the forum. Did a search but no results.

I just purchased a K7 with kit lens and looking for opinions on bags that can also hold a laptop. Any recommendations?

Thanks.

I have a LowePro Fastback 250. Its a nice backpack but I actually rarely use it because it's kind off to big.. So I end up using a cheap shoulder bag instead.

Anyhow.. the pack is well made, camera compartment large and easily configured. Lots of small pockets for batteries, etc..

the things I don't like about it is that it lacks a place to stick a tripod, the belt part isn't removable, and even that it is fairly easy to access the camera compartment one usually
end up having to take the backpack off if you want to swap lenses..

I also had the idea at fist to haul a laptop with me but the extra weight is not worth it..

I haven't received my K7; should arrive tomorrow.

I am already thinking about the number of bags I will have to pack for a short trip...I wanted to decrease the number by at least one and combine the DSLR and laptop. I intend to pick up the LowePro 102 AW as a walk-around bag.

Thanks for the response..

I would suggest browsing some camera shops that stock bags/backpacks. This is really where you need to check out in person the product you want and see if it will do the job for you. Most of us have more than one camera bag. I have a backpack (Lowepro) and a shoulder bag (cheapie) that I use at different times.

Lowepro 250 is a great pack if you want to take everything (except a tripod). Therefore it is large. I use it daily so that I have my camera gear and computer available when needed.

Okay. I purchased the Kata 467i; great bag. I also visited one of the local stores and compared it to the Lowepro 250 AW, also a good bag.

The Kata is more stylish, seems a little lighter and has a few more pockets.
The Lowepro definitely has more padding and seems studier overall.

Either is an excellent bag..I settled for the Kata. I am also adding the LowePro 102 AW.
