Sigma 400mm F5.6 TeleMacro & K7 AF?

I got hold of a mint (actually "new old stock") Sigma 400mm F5.6 APO Tele-macro MF (non-HSM) and I've taken some nice test shots with my K7 set to MF and the lens to A.

I don't want to do any damage experimenting so does anyone know if this lens is compatible with the Auto Focus of the k7? I assume that this lens doesn't have what's needed for AF to work even though the focus motor is in the K7.

If it matters I have the version that uses the 77mm filter size (I believe the 72mm were older versions and optically not as good).

Congrats! That is an excellent lens. It came in MF and AF versions. I've been looking for one for 2 years. If it is the AF version it should perform with well with the K7s AF. If it is the MF version it will not autofocus. There is a review here:

Yeah, mine is the MF version so no AF. Figured I asked. Wishful thinking but I'm still quite pleased.

I owned the manual version and regret selling it. excellent performance.

If it' manual focus then I think you can safely say its non HSM

Would be interested in seeing some pics taken with it, have heard good things about the lens.

I'll post some pictures as soon as I shoot some that are worthy.
Hope to get out this weekend. Weather is supposed to be nice (mid 60's!)
