KX Live view focus issue

I am a newbie. Had a KX for a few months. Up until the other day I had never used live view to take pics. So I started using live view and sometimes it wont lock focus while using live view. If focuses fine when using the viewfinder just in live view sometimes it wont lock into fucus. Any ideas what might cause this?

Thanks....

Make sure you use the eyepiece cover when using Live View. Light coming in the eyepiece can foul up the works.

I understand that LV uses a totally separate system to AF which obviously is very slow. I don't mind it myself since I seldom use LV at all but when I do it's for the amazingly accurate MF that can be achieve with it.
note that there is an option in the menus to use regular AF during LV but then the screen blanks while the AF button is pressed. if you don't mind that than AF should be fast and accurate (relatively speaking) just like using the viewfinder.

Wow, didn't know that feature was available. I'll have to try it out. Thanks.

Thank U. I have missed this feature in the menu. I will use this in the future as well.
I can say that the live view of my K-x is probably one of the worst in the market. My 8 years old fuji s7000 bridge camera was slow in AF (that is why I had to change to DSLR, but compared with my pentax its live-view was fast like hell.
