Wireless remote control

Hi,
I am looking at using a remote control for my K7 to set up for wildlife then move away from the site. The infra red Control F has a fairly short range so I am considering the Hahnel RF Remote for Canon (also covers K7) HW 433 N80, with supposedly a range of up to 80 metres.

Has anyone used this? Especially in Australia as maybe the frequency may not be suitable. You can switch frequencies but I can't find any details of the other 3 available.

Thanks.

FYI, I bought the Hahnel RF remote and it works perfectly. Max distance I've used at so far is about 30metres.

I went with the RF-602 for a combination of radio flash trigger and use as a remote shutter. I probably would go with the Meike MK-RC7 today if I was buying. They just weren't around when I bought the RF-602.

Edit: I didn't see the date of the first post was posted, nor did I see that you were replying to your own post. Please ignore my post as you don't care at this point.

Thank you
Russell

Your efforts were not in vane - It's still good info. I read your suggestion and am thinking about buying the Meike MK-RC7. This thing reads like it would be a great asset to my mobile studio.

Thank you both for the info. I have been keen on getting myself some wireless triggers and don't see many for Pentax...will both of these work with my K10D?

I know the RF-602 does.

I don't have direct experience with the Meike MK-RC7. But it's very similar to the RF-602. There is no reason why it does not work with K10D.

Which options are the for the K-x?
- no connection, so InfraRed only (OK for me)
- but I would like to be able to program it (timer for elapse applications)
