Viewfinder Glass

Cracked my Viewfinder Glass(diopter glass) on my K20, does it have to go back to Pentax for repair? is it a quick fix at a camera store?

The whole eyepiece module has to be replace and it won't take long nor complicated. However, I won't let camera stores touch mine.

Had the same thin happen to me. Sent it to a local authorized Pentax repair shop. Took a looong time to get back. Evidently they had to wait on a part from Pentax. The repair itself is easy (they also checked the body for any shards of glass). Probably will be just as quick to send it to Pentax.

Is there a diopter adapter available at +0 that could be used as a protector for the eyepiece?

I may be wrong, but I don't think there is a diopter adapter that doesn't affect fov.
