You can find a Chinese batterygrip, BUT itīs hard to get and it use the connections on the side of the camera. So you have to have the door open.... se:

Don't forget about this one on EEK-Bay, UK
Pro Vertical Battery Grip f/ Pentax K100D AA UKship on eBay For Pentax, Digital Camera Batteries, Photography (item 270148264089 end time 04-Aug-07 14:30:00 BST)
I don't like the wires going up the side on either of them. If they made a cover for them then I'd buy one.

yea I just got one recently. It adds a considerable amount of heft to the K100D/K110D cuz you got 12NiMH AAs. Comfort wise its great. Your pinky finger finally gets to go somewhere and the vertical grip is nicely done as well.

The open side door is a worry but it's not too bad. Costwise, Ownuser decided to start a generic battery grip and then make camera specific top plates (that go between dslr and the battery grip). If you think the K100D version is bad, look at the Ownuser grips for the Konica Minolta 5D. I think almost all the Ownusers ultilize the remote shutter inputs at the sides of dslrs. Easy and cheap to make. (just standard 2.5" audio style jack)

I ordered an "L" flash grip (the ones you mount the slave flashes on) and plan on using that to kinda 'cover' the open K100D door from direct impact.

This one looks better: grip for Pentax K100D super K110D with Li-On battery (item 110327845872 end time Jan 17, 2009 10:54:04 MYT)

but it doesn't have a vertical shutter release button though.
