Viewfinder cap for K-x

Hello,

Older Pentax (and not only Pentax) cameras had viewfinder cap in the box. It was intended to use when shooting from tripod to close the additional light coming from viewfinder. K-x does not have this cap. So the question is: is it safe to shoot from tripod and not cover viewfinder ? Will additional light have influence on light metering or on photo itself ?

Hi. It is recommended to cover the viewfinder for long exposures on a tripod.

I have seen some effects of this in some photos I took. Not so much at night though.

Not sure what you are meant to use. Not of aware of any cover being available.

Hi,

I just bought viewfinder magnifier and it has this cap, so problems is solved
I thought that as long as we have no cap in box for K-x then we don't need it, but apparently we need.

Where did you buy it? Was it for Pentax K-x?

Hello,

I bought it on eBay. Its 3rd party magnifier Tenpa. I'm still waiting for it to arrive.
