k7 + ac adapter

Will using an ac adapter charge the batteries inside the camera, either in a grip or the body while in plugged in? or does it simply provide a power source so the batteries are spared?
thanks in advance

I believe it is just a power source and will not charge.

I have a K-7 with a grip. How do I charge my camera body's normal battery without removing the grip? Or do I have to remove the grip and then take out the camera body battery each time I want to charge the regular camera battery?

It's a little annoying having to remove the grip each time to charge the body battery.

With a hack saw.

I set the camera to use the grip battery first and keep It (or them in the case of the AA option) charged. I don't remove the body battery too often that way.

Can't really answer that question because I havent done testing. But last winter I shot star-trails in minus -30celsius temperatures with ac adapter for about four hours. When I was ready battery was still full (what was to be expected really), but at least this shows that Pentax K-7 battery holds up quite nicely in cold weather. And with short breaks in AC, battery acts as a nice alternative power supply.
