Definitely think that the K20 is more comparable to the D90 right now. You will find that high iso is really good overall with the K20 (shooting RAW, not Jpeg). The Pentax f2.8 zooms are definitely more reasonably priced than the Nikon f2.8 zooms (don't even talk about VR). If you look at John Bee's work, it looks like he can actually comfortably shoot iso 3200 -4000 with his K20 with some post processing. Certainly looks good to me.

Auto focus is not the greatest on the K20, but you will find the D5000 to be a little weak in that area as well.
