No hot shoe cover, WR problem?

I lost the hot shoe cover for my K10D. I was wondering whether this would pose a problem in the rain? It's only a flimsy piece of plastic, so I'm assuming it isn't. I just wanted to make sure...

No problem at all.. The contacts on the flash shoe are sealed (or are supposed to be).

As Jeff said. The hot shoe cover is only cosmetic in nature. The contacts should be seal in the camera. I would not worry about the plastic cover.

I would take this a step further and say that you are probably better off without it. Leaving it on in the rain may trap moisture, promoting corrosion on the contacts.
