How long will you wait for a Pentax FF?

People have already left. Others are threatening to leave. How about you?

This survey is not about predicting where the market is heading and how Pentax should respond. This is about you as a photographer and where you are heading. If you care to post a reply, tell us about the pictures that you take and why you think you need or don't need full-frame.

Thanks for playing!

If I leave it wont be because of a FF, but because of the lack of specialized equipment like the canon MPE-65 or MT-24EX

even with this I doubt I'll ever leave completely, more likely I'll shoot canon for macro and pentax everything else...

FF, FF, FF...I don't give a hoot about it! It would be nice if they did but, really I don't care either. It's like well, if Pentax doesn't have a FF camera they aren't a real camera company. So what? I'm not suffering from lack of resolution from my k10/k20, just lack of compositional skill. I mean, if they did, I have to spend a lot more money and change out a lot of lenses. Let's get better low light AF worked on or SDM more reliable first.

When I was shooting film, it was a lot harder for me to be able to afford decent long lenses than wide angles, so I kinda like the APS-C format. My 200/f2.8 is now equivalent to a 300/f2.8...except it's a lot easier to carry and not as expensive! I might feel differently about FF if I were still selling my work, but these days I'm fine without it. If I were to make any change, I'd probably try to skip FF and move on up to the 645D.

Where's the option "I got an FF already to do FF things. For everything else, there's Pentax."

You know the funny thing is, if you REALLY *need* FF, you would've left already.

Currently, I am content with the Pentax dslr system. Whenever I feel the need for an FF set, I reach for my film cameras.
I guess having the option of an FF Pentax dslr would be nice but quite frankly it would be out of my financial reach. So, I don't lose sleep over awaiting one.

I voted "I have no plans of leaving."

... because I couldn't find the option for "I left FF to shoot Pentax"

(sure does seem like we are in the age of "the Grass is always greener in FF land")

That's probably quite true.

I agree with blackcloudbrew--who's waiting??? My current selection meets every need I currently have. If it did not, I would find something that did. My loyalty to Pentax will cease when they cease to meet my needs. until then...well...happy shooting!

As much as I'd like to see a 135 format camera from Pentax, it won't be the end of my world if it never happens.

Ahem - "It is a lousy carpenter who blames his tools."

Anybody want to make a wager as to how long it will be before Samsungian posts in this thread about how he "left" already and how superior Nikon is?
